Introduction

The excelsior campus policy governing student dances was developed to promote the efficient and orderly use of campus facilities. This general policy operates in conjunction with specific deadlines, policies and regulations currently in effect within each campus facility.

Dance Defined

For the purpose of this policy a “dance “ is any social event sponsored by a University recognized student group or organization, including the Associated students of Excelsior Education Center, and departmentally sponsored dances with students in attendance whose primary purpose is the promotion of free movement to amplified music in an unobstructed area in a campus facility or area subject to reservation.

Attendance

Only current EEC students with valid student identification cards and their accompanied guest may attend dances held in a campus facility. All dance attendees are required to show photo identification. Non-EEC students over 19 years of age will not be admitted.

Guest Policy

Only an EEC student may bring guests to the dance. Guests must present a school ID or a picture ID which indicates they are age 19 or younger. Guests must be signed in by an EEC student. The EEC student will be held responsible for the behavior of their guests and will be held accountable for any violations listed under the EEC student code of conduct.

Ticket Sales

Advance ticketing is required for all dances. Tickets can be sold up to 7:00 p.m. the night before the event at a designated box office.
The number of tickets sold or distributed cannot exceed the estimation of guests approved or room capacity.Tickets will state that school identification is required for entrance to the dance.

Security

Minimums of two security guards, approved by EEC are required at each event. Officers will be assigned to the entrance of the dance to monitor proper identification. Those without identification or found to be over the age of 19 will not be admitted. They will also be advised to leave the location property promptly.
