School Wellness Policy

Local education agencies (LEA) that participate in the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program are required by federal law to establish a local school wellness policy for all schools under the jurisdiction. The wellness policy is an important tool for parents, LEAs, and school districts in promoting student wellness and providing assurance that school meal nutrition guidelines meet the minimum federal school meal standards.
